Donut shop with margarita, piña colada flavors opens in downtown Detroit

A donut shop affiliated with Eastern Market Brewing Co. has opened its first brick-and-mortar site in the Madison Building near Comerica Park.

Dooped Donuts got its start baking wholesale for metro Detroit coffee shops at the start of the pandemic and expanded to a drive-through market at the Ferndale Project, according to Crain's Detroit. There, the donuts reportedly sold out every day.

Offerings at the new shop will rotate on a regular basis, according to the release. Featured flavors will include glazed and chocolate sprinkle, along with specialty flavors like margarita, piña colada and mixed berry pie.

Along with handmade vegan doughnuts, Dooped will offer Ashe Coffee. Dooped Donuts and Ashe Coffee, which was acquired by Eastern Market Brewing Co.

The store is open from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 1555 Broadway St.
