As Italian restaurants in Metro Detroit go, Bacco Ristorante on Northwestern Hwy. in Southfield is pretty tops. In 2013, it was named Free Press Restaurant of the Year.
Now, after 22 years it's closing, owner Luciano DelSignore announced in a Wednesday morning news release, according to the Detroit Free Press. The last serving will come on March 23.
"I believe that everything in life has a natural conclusion and a lifecycle that can give you an opportunity as a stepping stone to continually improve, reinvent and develop even greater concepts," DelSignore told the Free Press. "Therefore, the closure of Bacco is strictly with the intention of allocating myself and my time for exciting new projects."
DelSignore also owns Casa Pernoi in Birmingham and Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina in Royal Oak, Southfield, Plymouth and Ann Arbor.
